Privacy and Legal
Subjective strives to be a safe and secure app for all users, and as such we take user privacy very seriously. This page outlines our privacy policy and legal information.
Privacy Policy
Subjective Labs (henceforth referred to as 'we', 'our' or 'us') is committed to the privacy of our users, and does not collect or store any identifying user data including location when not linked to a Subjective ID.
'Data' refers to any data inputted on Subjective Labs products, or generated from activity on our products. This includes PII.
'Subjective ID' refers to the Subjective Labs service for collecting and storing user data for access across data.
'PII' is personally identifiable information, including information collected and maintained on an individual level and is linked to personally identifiable information. This includes indirect identifiers, such as an email, IP address, and the other kinds of information that are ‘technical’ and ‘non-personal.’
'User', 'you' or 'your' refers to you and your usage of Subjective Labs products.
Subjective ID and Cloud
Your data, whether in the cloud or not, is yours and yours only.
By using Subjective, you agree that all data and PII you input into Subjective and associated with your activity can be collected and retained by us.
Subjective ID users' data and required PII is stored securely in the Subjective Cloud.
This includes but is not limited to your full name and email.
If you do not create a Subjective ID, we do not directly collect PII and user data however may be revealed through our collection of derivative data and user analytics.
We NEVER collect or store user data, including derivative data, for non-educational and non-essential (for the delivery of Subjective) purposes.
We never sell user's PII and only store and access only necessary user data for delivery of our service, analytics and support. Your Subjective data or PII will never be used to target advertising to you.
You may request the edit of the PII records that we hold in your Subjective ID either in your account options, or by contacting us at pii@subjective.school
We maintain a comprehensive security program surrounding user data and PII and its security, confidentiality, and integrity. We act in the best interest of your privacy. This includes administrative, technological, and physical safeguards around the storage, transmission and handling of your data.
These safeguards include using an ISO 27001:2013 compliant server provider for hosting Subjective, and using a SOC2 Type II compliant database provider for the delivery of the Subjective ID service.
All data in transit is encrypted at rest with AES-256 and in transit via TLS.
Rigorous testing is undertaken on all Subjective Labs products to ensure Subjective handles user data safely and securely.
We will require that our vendors with whom user PII is shared in order to deliver our service, are obligated to follow these same commitments for the given PII.
We will allow a successor entity to maintain user PII, in the case of our merger or acquisition by another entity, provided the successor entity is subject to these same commitments for the previously collected PII.
We will not knowing retain user data, including PII, for a longer period than necessary to support your usage on Subjective. This time period is unlimited with activity, and two years of inactivity. If you no longer require a Subjective ID or cloud storage of your data, you can request an account deletion.
A request for your user data or account deletion can be sent through legal@subjective.school

We aim to never collect any identifying or personal information, however the collection of this data is subject to the privacy policies of the respective organisations.
Users will be given prominent notice if this privacy policy changes, occuring in the form of a banner on the app, requiring you to agree in the form of an 'OK' button.
By acknowledging the banner notice, you consent to any new terms that may apply.
No data usage that does not fall under these terms will occur without prerequisite consent.
If there are any questions regarding our data collection practices or user privacy measures, contact us at legal@subjective.school.
